Sidewalks & Walkways
We are grouping both of these together because we can make the argument that they are alike in the sense that people walk in them! Most of our walkway projects though come with a lot more design and a lot more style so to speak. When it comes sidewalks though there is at times only so much that can be done. Some sidewalks are considered public property. So even though they are going to be on each side of your driveway you are going to need some permission to work on them. When we are talking about sidewalks on private property you are not going to need to worry about that so much!
How Much Can I Alter A Sidewalk? We get this question a lot from people that are looking into building a new driveway and want to alter the sidewalk so that it fits their new design. We are not going to be able to give a straight answer here. The problem is we need to find out what jurisdiction so to speak the sidewalk falls under. If you live in a gated area it is very possible that any alterations that you want to make to the sidewalk have to be taken up with the Home Owner’s Association. Stained Concrete or Other Types of Designs When we are building walkways a lot of times we are not going to want to have a dull gray strip of concrete running through our property. We are going to want to create a path that can really blend into the design of the entire place. A great way to do that is to use stained concrete. There are other types of methods that can use to not only color the concrete path. Also, we can create different types of designs on the concrete itself. Tearing Down An Existing Sidewalk It is not that we spend our days stocking our competition, but we have noticed that a lot of times this process is rarely talked about. Although it may be a given that if you want to build a new path or sidewalk you are probably going to have to tear down what is already there many companies don’t tell you how they plan to do that. We can tear down all sorts of existing sidewalks and take away all of the debris so that we can have a clean sheet to work with! Working In Your Lawn Building a concrete walkway through your property can be a great way for you to actually feel comfortable walking around and taking a look at your trees and plants. That being said, you are probably going to want to work with a company that can create that concrete walkway without tearing apart the grass. We make sure that we are extra careful when working on these projects. Being able to set everything up before we pour the concrete is a huge advantage. That way we can make sure that we are not mixing concrete property and other things that can make the whole process get dirty! |
